Seismic response of Special Moment Resisting Frames constructed on plain and sloping ground

Abstract Earthquakes are one of the most extinctive natural unpredictable disaster. The major reason earthquakes movement Tectonic plates and excitation in earth’s crust. It is observed that many conventional buildings have constructed without considering seismic provisions given by Indian standard codes to escape disastrous effect which results into collapse disintegration buildings. Therefore, concept earthquake resistant building design came consideration this crucial aspect when a structure be designed for sloping terrain or hilly area. This research carried out examine response structures during ground oscillations terms storey drift, base shear displacement. For work, 8storey, 12 16 frames considered on plain 20°, 30°and 45° slopes zone V considered. All analyzed using pushover analysis finite element based software ETABS v-19. Response reduction factor also calculated several compared values with IS 1893:2016(part- I).
